Spatialreference.org website refactored for latest IAU 2015 CRS codes

Today I noticed that the previously out-dated “Spatial Reference” coordinate registry website has been refactor to PROJ v9 thanks to Javier Jimenez Shaw.

website: https://Spatialreference.org

Pros - the IAU 2015 codes based on the Archinal et al., 2018 IAU report are available. These are the same codes standardized by the OGC, found in PROJ (thus GDAL, QGIS), and used in the latest version of GeoServer.

Cons - The older IAU2000 links are deprecated. You can still find them but if used you will be met with this new error

404

Sorry, iau2000 is not supported anymore. You can get old data from file
spatialreference.org/scripts/iau2000.json at master · OSGeo/spatialreference.org · GitHub

example uses:

gdalsrsinfo https://spatialreference.org/ref/IAU_2015/49900/prettywkt2.txt

but you can also just do:

gdalsrsinfo IAU_2015:49900
