New USGS derived CTX & HiRISE datasets (STAC)

I paste here some new pieces of information from USGS Astrogeology, wrt availability of NASA MRO CTX and HiRISE derived datasets. Originally shared on OP Slack by J. Laura

CTX

USGS Analysis Ready Data Release Announcement: USGS Astrogeology have released 4815 MRO CTX DTMs generated using the NASA Ames Stereo Pipeline to the NASA/Amazon Open Data Registry. These DTMs were created using globally relatively controlled CTX data (bundle adjusted) and then absolutely controlled to MOLA using pc_align . Therefore, they are absolutely controlled to the current reference frame! The products include, DTMs, hill shades, and left image orthoimage, plus intersection error and quality assurance metrics (from geodiff ).

HiRISE

USGS Analysis Ready Data Release Announcement: USGS Astrogeology have released over 155,000 HiRISE RDRs (> 114TiB) to the NASA/Amazon Open Data Registry. These data are processed from the PDS RDR archive to be cloud optimized GeoTiffs (16 bit with scale/offset encoded). The equatorial data are all projected to IAU2015:49910 (so they have a consistent projection across all equatorial products).

If you use the data, integrate the API into one of your projects, or have questions, we would love to discuss more: Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) High Resolution Science Experiments (HiRISE) Uncontrolled Observations · DOI-USGS/planetary-ard · Discussion #12 · GitHub
